Charities

We have raised over £12,000 for a wide variety of charities over the last academic year. This has been achieved by the efforts of many students and staff through form, year and House events.

If you have ideas on how you would like to raise money in school for a charitable cause, ask your Form Tutor to give you a Charity Proposal Form on which you can draft your plans and then take it to Mrs Robertshaw – she is looking forward to hearing from you.

Always a huge success is the annual Prefects’ Rag Week in aid of The Children’s Trust, Tadworth Court Hospital. http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/.   Almost £7,000 was raised this year.  £1,000 was donated to the Royal Marsden and the remainder to the Trust.

In support of Comic Relief, students and staff wore a red 'accessory, raising a total of £393.86

Other regular events include:

  • the Year 7 Readathon, organised by the English Department, which raises money for cancer research;
  • the annual swimathon, which in November 2008, raised over £1,700 (please see photo below)

Comments from students about the Swimathon:

"It was an excellent experience!!!  It meant a lot to me because I had to push myself as far as I could go."   Lauren Humphries E7JF

"The swimathon was a great success and there was a lot of team spirit.  It was lots of fun."   Rachel Connolly E10JM
